The new Volvo EX30 is the most recent addition to the automaker's EV lineup. Expected to debut in 2024, this small SUV will meld modern technology and class-leading comfort features to provide an unforgettable driving experience. Several trims are available for the new EX30, including Plus, Core, Ultimate, and Cross Country.

The Cross Country trim is expected to feature a rugged exterior, with additional features like sophisticated suspension and higher ground clearance. Additionally, the new EX30 will come with various powertrains, all providing enough muscle to run the small crossover.

Electric Performance and Capability

The Volvo EX30 electric powertrain is available as either a single or dual motor configuration. The single-motor version powers the rear axle, making an impressive 268 horsepower. If you need a more powerful EX30, consider using the dual-motor model. This configuration provides a motor for both axles, generating 422 horsepower.

Also, the dual-motor EX30 boasts quicker acceleration than other small crossovers. Drivers can enjoy up to 275 miles of range for the rear-wheel drive EX30 models. The all-wheel drive EX30, on the other hand, delivers a maximum of 265 miles.

Design

The EX30 offers a minimalist interior featuring recycled, eco-friendly materials. The power-adjustable seats provide comfortable room for five passengers. The new EX30 offers reasonable legroom for a small crossover, particularly in the rear row. The cargo room is pretty spacious, and there's an available storage compartment below the load floor.

Other functional features include heated seats, steering wheel, and foldable cup holders.

Technology and Safety

The new EX30 will feature a 12.3-inch infotainment system with an Apple CarPlay® function. The audio system is top-tier, with a unique soundbar. Safety and driver-assistive features expected for the new EX30 include adaptive cruise control and lane-departure warning. The automaker also provides an automatic emergency braking system that can detect pedestrians and cyclists.
